"The Ballad Of Horn Trippin' Charlie" Lyrics

Well let me tell you a story about a man named Charlie on a tragic and fateful day
With a two-four right beside him well he headed south of Picton and drove down towards south bay
Well he took his sweet time and drank up every bottle and figured he needed more.
So he started back for Picton but when he got to Bird House City the cops were waiting there.

Well did he ever return? No he never returned
And his fate is still unlearned
(Horn Trippin Charlie)
He will drive forever on the back roads of the county
He’s the man who never returned

Well Charlie pulled him a Uee and drove to Point Petre where he figured on laying low
But with no beer and no bottle he had to get to Picton, past the cops to the LCBO
Now all night long Charlie drives down those back roads, crying what will become of me?
How can I ever make my way past those road blocks back to Picton to my pals and family.
Charlie’s wife goes down to the road block at Black River every day at half past two,
Where she tosses him some curd and bottle of whiskey as old Charlie goes speeding through

Now you people of the County better listen on the double cause someday this might be you
When the cops are on the prowl you’d better call you a taxi or like Charlie you’ll be roaming too
